My name is Julie. I am a writer, author and poet. My background is in Neuroscience. I juggle this unusual combination by alternating between Science Communication and my various writing projects including poetry, non-fiction books … and some other stuff. Stuff like short stories but also once I stood behind a tree and jumped out at people for money. It was a job. Really. It was great.
At other times I can be found reading or telling people cool science facts – like why chillies feel hot and mint feels cold. Or that there’s an amazing published paper where scientists played hide and seek with rats for legitimate scientific reasons. I also cook and eat tasty food, enjoy baking but don’t necessarily do it all that often, and love a cup of tea.
My writing is teamed with gorgeous artwork and design choices, thanks to my wonderful illustrators. Here they are. Check out their other work, they’ve got some really cool (other) projects going on too!

She lives in Lithuania and works as a designer.
